Wholemeal Date Rock Cakes
In between a rock bun and a scone, easy no matter which category you put it in
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup S.R flour
- 1 cup wholemeal S.R. flour
- 1/2 cup raw sugar
- 3 ozs butter
- 4 ozs dates,finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
Method
- Rub butter into flour till it resembles breadcrumbs
- add dates, sugar
- combine egg and milk then add to dry ingredients
- mix with fork till sticky, do not beat
- drop lumps onto greased tray
- bake in moderate oven 15 minutes or till golden
