Shepherds Pie

Drew introduced me to the idea of using relish in a shepherds pie - I let him cook for me occasionally and this is one of his specialties.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams lamb mince
  • 1 x onion (diced)
  • 1 jar smokin stu's tomato relish (or your favourite brand)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • Frozen Peas

Mashed Potato

  • 2 large potatoes
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 25 grams of butter
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1/4 cup milk

Method

  1. Brown onion, mince and garlic in a pan
  2. Add relish
  3. Prepare mash potato by boiling potatoes and mashing with butter, cheese, salt, pepper and milk
  4. Put mince in a baking dish and spread mash over the top using a fork to create a rough texture
In this variation we have used some mashed sweet potato on the bottom
