Rissoles

Good old rissoles, an economical and tasty dish with a difference. We make them with oats and polenta instead of flour and breadcrumbs, a healthier alternative

Ingredients

  • 500 gm of mince, can be beef, lamb or pork, try using Kangaroo, its much healthier
  • polenta, quick cook oats
  • 1 egg
  • tomato sauce, bbq sauce, steak sauce or whatever your favourite
  • salt and pepper

Method

  • Mix mince with oats, polenta, sauces, egg salt and pepper
  • quantities will depend on the meat you use  (also egg size) but mix should be firm but not too thick
  • take about 1/4 cup of mix and roll into firm patties, dont make them too thick or they take too long to cook
  • lightly shallow fry until cooked through
  • serve with vegetables or savoury rice (recipe in vegetarian section)
  • make a double batch and have them cold for lunch, geat with a salad or in a bread roll
