Cheese Pastry
This recipe is out of an old school cookbook and has stood the test of time. It is used for small cases and biscuits to hold savoury fillings
Ingredients
- 2 cups Plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
- 1/4 teasoon mustard powder
- 60 gm butter
- 2/3 cup grated cheese
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons water
- squeeze lemon juice
Method
- Sift flour, salt and spices
- Mix egg yolks, water and lemon juice
- Rub butter into flour, add cheese
- Add liquid and lightly combine ingredients
- Turn onto floured board and knead lightly
- Roll out and use as desired
