Brandy Snaps
If you dare to devour this much sugar, the Brandy Snap makes a great partner to good coffee or use it to decorate a dessert.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tblspns golden syrup
- 2 oz butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup plain flour
- 2 tspns ground ginger
- pinch salt
METHOD
- Place syrup, butter & brown sugar in saucepan
- stir over low heat till butter is melted
- sift flour, ginger & salt into bowl
- stir in butter mixture
- drop small teaspoonfuls onto greased trays
- allow room for spreading
- bake in moderate oven 5 minutes or till golden
- allow to cool on trays 1 minute
- place on wire rack to cool
- sandwich together with cream & strawberries
