Blackcurrant and Apple

Blackcurrants have an incredibly high Vitamin C content and have inspired many juices for kids, so this should be an easy smoothie to get the little ones to drink - they won't even know they are getting their vitamins!

Ingredients

  • 150 grams frozen blackcurrants
  • 1 x frozen apple or 100ml of frozen apple juice
  • 100 grams of vanilla soy yoghurt (freezing it helps with the overall frozen texture of the smoothie)
  • 200ml of soy milk
  • Optional 1 small scoop of vanilla soy ice-cream

Method

  • Add all ingredients to blender and blend for 4 minutes
  • Serve in a tall glass with a wedge of apple on the side and a big straw

For a fruit frappe...

  • Instead of using yoghurt, milk and ice-cream increase the apple juice to 250ml and add a frozen banana for some extra fruitiness
