Beer Batter

What could be more Australian than a good beer batter?  Batters are best if left to sit in the fridge for 1/2 or an hour or so before using.  Remember to always make sure the deep fry oil is hot enough before you cook your batter dish, otherwise it wont cook crispy

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups wholemeal S.R.flour
  • 1 cup S.R.flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • salt
  • 3/4 stubby beer at room temperature

Method

  • Sift flours, return husks to bowl
  • Add sugar and salt
  • Add beer and mix carefully
  • Refrigerate before using
