Banana and Honey Breakfast Smoothie

This is a smoothie I used to make all the time as a teenager when I needed a full meal before playing sport or going for a run. Some people find the raw egg concept a bit gross, but if you can get past this it is a delicious and healthy smoothie made into a dairy free version below.

Ingredients

  • 2 x frozen bananas
  • 1 x raw egg
  • 1 x cup of vanilla soy millk
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspooon of nutmeg
  • 2 x teaspoons of honey
  • 1 x scoop of vanilla or plain soy ice-cream

Method

  • Add milk, bananas, ice-cream, honey, nutmeg and cinnamon to a powerful blender or food processor
  • Blend for 3 minutes on high
  • Add egg, blend for 30 seconds on low

Serve

  • In a tall glass with a straw, topped with some nutmeg or cinnamon
