3 Ingredient Scones

Recipes which have fewer and fewer ingredients seem to be the go these days, here is one that has been doing the rounds, so simple and again you probably have the ingredients in your pantry or fridge

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sifted S.R.flour
  • 3/4 cup lemonade
  • 300ml fresh cream

Method

  • Put flour into a bowl, make a well in centre then add cream and lemonade.
  • Mix with a round bladed knife till ingredients form a soft dough
  • Put dough onto a lightly floured surface
  • Knead very gently till smooth
  • Pat out till 2cm in thickness
  • Cut into rounds with a 5cm cutter
  • Use all the dough trimmings to make more scones
  • Place scones side by side in a lightly greased lamington tin
  • Bake in preheated oven 210C for 15 to 20 minutes or till golden
  • Carefully place scones onto a clean tea towel.
  • serve with jam or cream while warm or with butter and jam when cold
  • If you like you can add a few currants to the flour before adding wet ingredients
